Entry the First

Well, after a year and a half and some lame excuses, I've decided to join the rest of my fellow Generation Y-ers and start blogging (again)! I'd like to thank Miss Laura for giving me the push I needed to get blogging again. There- Happy? :P

However, unlike the rest of my Generation Y-ers, this shall not be a typical blog. Nay nay, I am not going to write about what I'm wearing, eating, doing, etc. I'm actually going to try to have some intelligent, educational, informative posts on this mofo!
Alright, who am I kidding. This is just going to be me ranting about things I've seen and done and the like. But it will be fun!

Plus, as an added appeal to all of you folks off in college, I may even throw in a few posts about how good old bumfuck nowhere New Glen-bury is doing!

So that's the first post. It's interesting. More to come!

All right, now that I've got the formalities out of the way, I'd like to actually get into the substance of the blog. Think of everything above the line as the course syllabus, and everything after as the lecture on the first day of class.

First, I'd like to talk about a movie that I have not been able to get out of my mind. I watched it a few weeks ago, but I'm still thinking about it.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Released in 2004 (yeah, I'm a bit late on this one), it stars Jim Carey and Kate Winslet (in an Oscar nominated role) as a couple who break up. Kate Winslet's character erases all of the memories of their relationship in a fantasy procedure, and, after learning about it, Jim Carey's character opts for the same operation. Halfway through the procedure, though, Carey's character decides he doesn't actually want the memories erased, so he hides the relationship memories in other parts of the brain.
It sounds confusing, and it does take a little while to understand exactly what is going on. But, Carey's and Winslet's performances, as well as the entire cast (which includes Elijah Wood and Kirsten Dunst) are impressive. The story is one of the most unique I've seen. Also, and I think this was one of the most defining aspects of the movie, the visual effects and cinematography were astounding. The way the real world and the dream/inner mind world are juxtaposed is amazing.
It's good. Watch it.

I'm going to end this first glorious blog with some advice.

If you typically don't eat Subway in Subway, but instead take it to go, do that ALL THE TIME. I made the mistake of going against my routine and I regretted it. Let me just say- Someone spent ten minutes talking to me about her birthday and pig poop.

Well that's it for the first post. Hope it wasn't too too boring.
